Since we put in a wood stove last February, one of the tasks for this summer was to collect wood. We finally got out again a couple of weekends ago and collected a trailer full! It is a relief to see a big pile of logs out back.

We are really nice to our siblings. We invite them to visit and hang out in the mountains for a Saturday in July...collecting firewood. I know that doing really hard manual labor was exactly how they wanted to spend a Saturday. Thanks Steffan, Mallory, & James for all your help. You contributed to our warmth this winter.

My mom, aka Grammy, came to visit this past week. She came Wednesday and was supposed to go home Saturday, but offered to stay until Sunday so that Jerod and I could go see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in the movie theatre Saturday night! (Thanks Mom!) We did some baking, toured around to some places around here that I'd never been, cooked some good dinners, went out to a good lunch, attended a baptism and church, talked & laughed, and played a lot. She brought her little 1.5 lb poodle, Bitsy, who barely survived the trip. If you weighed 1.5 lbs and were cute and cuddly, you'd barely survive 4 days with a 5 and a 2 year old too! She did, in true grandma form, spoil Samantha & Brighton quite a bit. We had a fun visit!
